You will need to carry your Campus Card on you at all times while on campus.  In addition to needing it to 'register your attendance' at classes the Campus Card has other multiple purposes and benefits.

Your Campus Card is your:

  • Attendance Card
  • Student Union Card
  • University photo ID
  • Library Card
  • Access pass
  • University campus travel pass

For more information on what to do to ensure your campus card is available when you go to collect it, on appropriate photographs and instructions for the MyPhoto site, please visit: www.sunderland.ac.uk/campuscard

Collecting your Campus Card

Once your card is ready to collect The Gateway Enquiries Team will raise an enquiry on Compass for you to let you know it's available.

This will send an email notification to your Student email account. Once you click onto the links within the email and sign in, you will be able to see which Enquiry Desk your card is located at as well as what ID you’ll need to bring to collect it.

Please note, if you do not collect your card within 30 days or fail to update The Gateway via Compass ,your card will be disposed of and as a result you will need to purchase a new card which costs £10.

Expired Cards

If your card has expired or is due to expire soon and you are still a student with us, we will automatically produce a new card for you on the date of your current cards expiration.

Once your new card is ready, The Gateway Enquiries Team will raise an enquiry on Compass to let you know it is available to collect.

Please note, we are unable to produce a new card prior to the expiration of your current card.

Building Access

Your Campus Card will come preprogramed with the access for every single building you need. However, if you experience any problems with your card for accessing buildings on Campus you will need to have your card re programmed by our Facilities Team.

For help with reprogramming your card for building access on campus, please visit Facilities Helpdesk, Design Centre, City Campus.

For help with reprogramming your card for building access within our Halls of Residences, please visit your Halls Reception.
