In light of the Covid-19 outbreak, we have added the following 3 new absence reasons into the TDS system for students to use when logging absences via the attendance monitoring app or online via the attendance portal – using these will ensure Students automatically get their attendance mark for any sessions they have timetabled (and are being monitored against) during the period of their absence.
New Absence Reasons
COVID-19 - Self Isolation
COVID-19 - Tested/Confirmed
COVID-19- Well but not in attendance
To ensure your attendance percentage is not impacted upon in a negative way (eg. it does not drop as a result of classroom based sessions being stopped on 17th March as a result of the coronavirus outbreak), we have taken action in our timetabling and attendance monitoring systems to ensure this doesn’t happen. If you have a query regarding this, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
In becoming a student you have made a serious commitment to your personal and academic development and we expect you to engage actively in your programme. Engagement includes attendance at lectures, seminars, practical sessions and so on plus making good use of the library and of electronic resources and submitting work on time.
